ARROYO CALLS FOR UNITY INSTEAD: Protests fail to oust GMA
Anti-government protests in Manila calling for the ouster of President Arroyo yesterday failed to gather crowds huge enough to force her out of office and the embattled leader emerged undeterred by the threats to her rule.
The Commission on Audit has recently uncovered several lapses in the Department of Education regional office, including the failure of some school officials to liquidate at least P11-million in cash advances, and undistributed textbooks, worth at least P600,000.
